Our History
Founded in 2003 and obtaining its 501c3 approval in 2005, the Sammamish Rotary Foundation implements the charitable giving initiatives of the Rotary Club of Sammamish. The Foundation raises money through donations and fundraisers. Since inception, the Foundation has distributed over $1.2 million in grants and scholarships. Funds are distributed in one of these four areas of service: Vocational, Community, Youth, and International. Whether it’s scholarships for students that demonstrate a commitment to serve, donations to local food banks, or leading international projects promoting health and entrepreneurship in Central America and Africa, our giving always reflects our mission to support students and our community and to improve the lives of those living in some of the world’s most impoverished places.
How You Can Make a Big Impact
Fund Immediate Needs
You can direct your gift to one of our four areas of service or make a non-designated gift, which will be directed to where it’s needed most.
Sammamish Legacy Fund
The Sammamish Legacy Fund will guarantee a source of funding for our charitable initiatives long into the future.
Endow a Scholarship
Make a large gift to endow a scholarship. The Sammamish Rotary Club will manage the scholarship process from selecting qualified applicants to distributing funds. You determine the student group and/or the area of secondary education you would like to support.
Donate Appreciated Assets
The donation of appreciated assets is a tax strategy to minimize taxes for your estate and heirs.
Qualified Charitable Distribution
This is a tax-advantaged way for individuals aged 70½ or older to donate money directly from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to a qualified charity.
