Voices that Endure: Densho's 30 Years of Preserving Community Stories

At the Rotary Club of Sammamish's weekly meeting at noon on Thursday, October 8, Geoff Froh, Deputy Director, shared the work of Densho, a nonprofit organization started in 1996. Densho is a digital archive and public history organization whose mission is to preserve and share history of the World War II incarceration of Japanese Americans to promote equity and justice today. 

Geoff shared a video with clips of oral histories from Japanese Americans who were incarcerated that are part of the Densho digital library. Densho is a Japanese term meaning “to pass on to the next generation,” or to leave a legacy.
