Sanjana Sridhar, June 2020 Update

by | Jun 6, 2020

My first year in the UW Computer Science program has been so amazing! I have really enjoyed diving deeper into my computer science courses and exploring the opportunities the school provides. This year, I have been working in a small research group within the UW Information and Communication Technology for Development Lab. Our group develops tools to help facilitate the global immunization cold chain. Essentially, we create tools so vaccines can safely be transported to developing countries through quality refrigerators. Our tools are currently being used the Ugandan government and we have a few more countries we are about to start working with. Working in this lab has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Additionally, I am part of the Society of Women Engineers Middle School Outreach team and have been introducing middle school students in the Seattle area to the different types of engineering. I have been chosen to be the Middle School Outreach Director for next year and I cannot wait to continue sharing my passion with more students.
