Madeline Iem, Sophomore, Loyola

by | Jul 24, 2018

My name is Madeline Iem and I graduated from Eastside Catholic in 2017. I am currently going into my sophomore year at Loyola University of Chicago. I am majoring in Early Childhood Special Education with a minor in Psychology. I am involved with a wide variety of clubs and organization on campus.

I am a volunteer at Misericordia, which is a home for over 700 children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities. I am also a member of a group called Change whose mission is to promote the awareness of gender-based violence. Along with Change, I am also the One Love coordinator at Loyola. One Love is an organization I have been involved with since my time at Eastside, and since the mission of One Love is very similar to that of Change we work together on numerous projects around campus to help end gender-based violence and teach people how to love each other better. I also made the deans list both semesters of my freshman year and plan to continue both my high academic excellence and involvement over my next three years.
