Kaley Romero

Hi! My name is Kaley Romero, and I am honored to be the 2017 Sammamish Rotary Scholarship awardee from Skyline High School. I am a freshman attending the University of Oklahoma and a member of the Honors College and National Merit Scholar Program. I am seeking a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry with a pre-medical emphasis, and ultimately hope to pursue my dream of attending medical school after graduation. This semester has been an amazing success, as I received top marks in all of my courses and have taken advantage of many of the opportunities OU has to offer. I am a proud member of the Sooner Freshman Council, a leadership off-shoot of the Student Government Executive Branch, as well as a member of the Global Engagement Program. My goals for next semester include auditioning for the Singing Sooners vocal jazz ensemble, researching with faculty in the biochemistry laboratory, and making time to gain clinical experience by volunteering and shadowing. Over the summer, I plan to study abroad in Guadalajara. For updates on my study abroad experiences over the next four years, I invite you to read my blog. I deeply appreciate the support of the Rotary Club as I advance through my undergraduate education and look forward to sharing more about my journey over the next few years.

‘Til next time…Boomer Sooner!
