A grant was issued by Sammamish Rotary in the Fall of 2018 to improve Highland Gardens. Project background and description:
The community space, affectionately known as “The Cabana”, is the central meeting point at Highland Gardens. The Cabana is a community hub where children and families access resources, engage with case management services, and attend events such as community meals and afterschool programing. As such, it is Imagine Housing’s goal to make the space as comfortable, relevant, and organized as possible. To serve this end, some improvements to the space are needed. This grant will be used for the following improvements:
– A room partition to increase level of privacy for residents working with our support staff. Currently a small desk is open to the community space in the corner of the room. There is no privacy for.sensitive conversations or reviewing personal documents, to ensure confidentiality in the provision of services.
– Increased shelving and storage bins are needed to organize and store supplies for programming and events.
– A combined copy/ scan/ fax machine is needed to provide relevant technology to be used by both residents and staff in providing case management services and completing important documents.
